Work

The mothership of ClarkWork's efforts has been the Event-O-Rama.  In 2000 I looked at the diligent efforts of Smitty's Notes, a community email list that had a goal to get the word out about what was happening in town.  I linked up with Jeff Smith and offered an online calendar of events where folks could post their events and the information would instantly appear on the website as well as notify him of the event.

A central repository of events was a novel idea and it wasn't long before others wanted to tap into it as well.  The Event-O-Rama's event database has been used by, or is currently being used by Smitty's Notes, the Winston Salem Visitor's Center, the Downtown Winston Salem Partnership, Wake Forest University student website, Time Warner's AroundThePiedmontTriad.com,  Nonprofit Connections and Coming Eventz.

Additionally, ClarkWork has developed sites for other local interests:
  • The Riverrun International Film Festival
  • John Tatum and the Promise Breakers
  • Creative Transitions, a local business
  • The Lockland Park Neighborhood Association
